Word order — dassAfter 'dass' (that), verb goes to end: 'Ich denke, dass das Internet wichtig ist.'

Modal verb 'können''Ich kann mit Freunden chatten' (I can chat with friends). Main verb at end as infinitive.

Common mistakes to avoid
Questions where students often pick the tempting wrong answer — make sure you know the right one:
Is German word order the same as English?✗ Yes, exactly like English. ✓ No — the verb is usually second in main clauses and last in subordinate clauses.
Can you always guess a German noun's gender from its meaning?✗ Yes, meaning always tells you the gender. ✓ No — gender is often grammatical (das Mädchen, 'girl', is neuter).
