Rhythm for dance
Dance music foregrounds strong, regular metre and clear rhythm so bodies can move.
A waltz is in triple time (three beats); a march is in duple or quadruple time.
Ballet uses orchestral scores to depict character and action; club and EDM use a steady four-on-the-floor beat with build-ups and drops for the dancefloor.
